We are seeking a Forklift Operator / Material Handler to join a team in a industrial and manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving materials, staging products, and safely handling heavy materials using a forklift and overhead crane .

This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience as a Forklift Operator, Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, Shipping & Receiving Clerk, Loader/Unloader, Crane Operator, Yard Worker, Production Worker, Warehouse Worker, or Industrial Laborer . Candidates with strong forklift or material handling experience who are willing to learn overhead crane operation are encouraged to apply. Overhead crane experience is highly preferred, but candidates with strong forklift, material handling, warehouse, rigging, or heavy equipment experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment
• Safely load and unload trucks and trailers
• Move, transport, stage, and organize raw materials, finished products, equipment, steel, components, and industrial materials
• Use an overhead bridge crane, gantry crane, jib crane, or overhead hoist to move heavy materials
• Operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, counterbalance forklifts, or other powered industrial trucks
• Inspect loads, equipment, chains, slings, straps, hooks, and rigging before use
• Properly secure, balance, position, and move loads
• Assist with shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, staging, inventory, and material movement
• Verify incoming and outgoing materials
• Maintain organized warehouse, production, and loading areas
• Follow proper rigging, lifting, crane operation, forklift, and material handling procedures
• Communicate with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, production employees, supervisors, and other team members
• Follow all OSHA, company, safety, PPE, and operating procedures
• Perform general warehouse, material handling, and industrial duties as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a forklift, overhead crane, bridge crane, gantry crane, hoist, or other material handling equipment
• Experience with loading and unloading trucks
• Experience moving heavy, oversized, long, or awkward materials
• Ability to safely operate equipment and follow established procedures
• Basic understanding of load capacity, weight distribution, lifting procedures, and safe material handling
• Ability to work in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, distribution, industrial, or outdoor yard environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
