Job Summary:

The IT Meditech Systems Specialist is responsible for providing expert-level support, management, and optimization of the Meditech Expanse Electronic Health Records (EHR) system within a healthcare setting. This role involves system troubleshooting, user training, application maintenance, incident management, and workflow optimization to ensure seamless clinical and administrative operations. The specialist acts as a key liaison between IT and operational teams, driving improvements, managing application portfolios, and ensuring data integrity across systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide product ownership and senior-level expertise for Meditech Expanse EMR decisions and priorities.
• Deliver daily support and troubleshooting for Meditech Expanse and related application systems.
• Coordinate and manage system updates, patches, and upgrades with minimal operational disruption.
• Conduct user training on EMR standards for healthcare providers and professionals.
• Respond to service desk requests including user provisioning and enhancement requests.
• Participate in application call queue as primary contact for system support.
• Manage and resolve system incidents, escalating critical issues to vendors as needed.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain clinical and administrative applications.
• Lead quality testing efforts for projects, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with operational teams to optimize workflows and improve application efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and propose long-term solutions to recurring issues.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of clinical data including patient records within application systems.
• Serve as liaison between IT and operational staff to address system issues and improvements.
• Function as an application expert for system integration and compatibility among physician tools.
• Manage clinical application portfolio and contribute to lifecycle management roadmap to optimize costs and reduce risks.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 5 years of acute and/or ambulatory Meditech Expanse EHR systems experience.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare IT systems.
• Proven problem-solving and project management skills.
• Experience in training and supporting EMR system users, including physicians.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to translate technical terminology for business operations and physician practice staff.
• Business Relationship Management (BRM) skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Information Systems, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience.

• Experience in application portfolio management and lifecycle management roadmap development.
• Demonstrated dedication to process improvement and ownership of projects and products.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform well under high-stress situations.

Special Considerations:

• Role requires bridging communication between technical and applications teams.
• Must be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and manage responsibilities independently.
• Work environment includes close collaboration with clinical and operational staff.

Scheduling:

• Full-time exempt position within the IT department.
• Work schedule and shifts to be determined by department needs; flexibility may be required to support system updates and incident management.
